So I bought a brand new hard drive for my laptop, and I want to install windows 7 on it. How do I do this without messing something up? I have the full 32 bit version of Windows 7, and the hard drive is brand new and has never been used before. What are the steps I need to do in order to install Windows 7 on a blank, new hard drive in my laptop?

As long as the system is compatible with Windows 7, just insert the installation media and the installer will guide you through the process. It will ask you where you want to install windows 7, and the new hard drive will show up in the list of drives in the system. Select the new hard drive and the installer will format and partition the hard drive for you.
it is very easy , you have to boot the system on the installation cd and go through the steps , when you come to the partitioning section , you only have free space , so you have to make a drive(or drives) on that free space , then choosing one of them so the wizard can install system files on it , for the rest you should go through wizard.
Hi Jordan,
Windows 7 has some great resources available to help you through all steps of installation. Visit http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-7 to get started
Hope you enjoy Windows 7!

This is fairly simple, all you have to do is:
1. Turn on your laptop and enter BIOS, usually by pressing F2 or F12 depending on your PC
2. In the BIOS settings, find the “boot priority” and set it so it boots from CD first.
3. Turn on your laptop again and make sure the Windows 7 disc is in the disc drive upon powering up.
4. You should see something come on the screen like “press any key to boot from CD..”
5. After that you will see a loading bar come up saying “windows is loading files”
6. Then, you will get to the Windows 7 installer menu and it’s pretty much point and click after that, just make sure from the installation options, to format your new drive in NTFS file system first, then just follow the onscreen instructions and Windows 7 will be installed!
PS – After your installation is complete you may need to install additional drivers depending on your hardware.
