I have a PC and a Laptop both are running Windows Vista Ultimate. Both machines see each other fine but i am unable to copy over a file to either one. I have checked the settings and the internet and i still havent found anything that helps. It keeps saying i dont have permissions but i cant seem to add either machine to the permissions list.

Add “Everyone” to the permissions list and give them full control. (If you do this though, be sure to enable password-protected sharing if you don’t want anyone else on your network messing with your files).
