I am trying to connect a Xp computer to an existing network, I can get the internet but not my network places?

I am using Service Pack 2 in windows xp, i can connect to the internet. I am using a wireless network. I have 2 computers running windows vista and can connect perfectly on them, my vista computers can find my xp laptop on the network, but my xp laptop can only find itself on the network.

Make sure the XP laptop is part of the same workgroup or domain as the Vista machines and try again.

It’s a pain, XP and Vista don’t like each other too much, so networking can get problematic. Best bet, is get Network Magic. Even the free version will help you identify simple network problems and ways to fix it. You may need to actually map the network drives on the XP PC to the Vista PCs. Try Network Magic first, you’ll be surprised how helpful it can be.
