I want to monitor SFC when i use it, to make sure the same files aren’t being altered by a virus or something. Is there a way to do this? When using SFC, the drive is being accessed a lot, restoring system files from the XP CD-ROM.

I’m not sure,I’ve never tried it, but it may be possible if you run it from command prompt instead of just using run.From experience,unless you really need to run it,or unless you have the same service packs on the CD as you have on your computer,don’t do it.It takes the files back to the ones installed on the CD and it messes things up bad enough that you may as well just back everything up and reinstall XP.
