I have been using Quicken for many years now and still love how easy it makes life.
Over the years I have had several different operating systems, has worked well with all.
Sure, there have been little glitches now and then, but all in all it continues to work for me!
Also love the fact you can now download the latest version on Amazon.

I was looking to replace of old 1995 version of Quicken which would not install on Windows 7 system. Several negative reviews had me trying (and paying) for Shareware versions of banking type programs. After beating my head against the wall with one of the shareware programs, I decided to go ahead and give Quicken 2010 a try. Did the instant download from Amazon. Everything I could hope for in this type of program was there. Setup was easy, account setup was easy, works smoothly. Very pleased!

I started with Quicken in the early 90′s and moved to Money in the late 90′s. I was a little apprehensive about using Quicken after learning Money was discontinued, but I have really been favorably impressed after a month of ownership.
Rather than convert my historical Money file I opted to do a fresh implementation with data starting as of 1/1/09. I was able import the 11 months of 2009 data from my major banks, but I am not sure that will work with all banks. Thus an easier approach would be to just start the first of some month. I am really impressed with the ease of updating bank information with one click. For my bank accounts this is superior to Money. The whole interface and cleanness of the Quicken program is really great.
I did opt to track my investment data on Excel, so I am not sure how this would work in Quicken.
I would have rated it 5 stars except the QIF data import is missing and the Money file conversion from what I have read is problematic. Thus it got 4 stars from me, but at $33 it is a bargain considering all it does.

Intuit appears to have a big problem with this one. You are not able to download and successfully apply updates – in many cases. For me, Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 all have the same failure. It is a shame, Intuit used to be the gold standard for software and service.
The tech support fixes suggest turning off firewall settings and all anti virus/spyware programs to install. Gee, just the thing we need when working on the computer with financial records.
Good luck if you get this one. If you are successful, let us know.
By the way I would call Quicken Support but…no number on the website…maybe that is my next clue.

I made the mistake of purchasing Quicken 2010. I spent 7 hours with online support attempting to install the software, and finally gave up. While the representatives (yes I talked to 3 different people) were helpful, nothing would seem to work. I attempted a download installation and then they finally sent me a CD to use, and that didn’t work either. I am still waiting to find out if I’ll be able to get a refund.
