System Mechanic Professional 9 – Windows Vista / 7 / XP / 2000
I had owned System Mechanic Pro 9 for about a year. It worked great and I renewed by subscription. I then got my update to 9.5 and that is when all my problems started. Once it loaded and requested a restart on my machine it went into a loop that kept trying to find an older version System Mechanic 7 ( which I never owned or installed). I had to reboot using Safe Mode. I contacted System Mechanic support (only email support available). They sent me a complex set of instructions on how to uninstall and then go into my registry and delete items from the registry. I tried to do the unistall but it ran for 3 hours then went into not-responding mode. Tried again, same thing. I shut down my pc and tried booting from safe mode, this would not work, then with my rescue disk, this failed too. System Mechanic then stated I could purchase technical service from them and they would call me and help fix. I pay for something they caused. I would rather junk the PC then do that. I am using my work PC to get buy, and I called DELL since I am under warranty for any type of problem. I am going to send it to DELL for fixing. But, I am going to blogs and Angie’s list to warn people about this software.
