I recently upgraded my computer from a windows xp to a windows 7 and I had to do a custom install which erased everything, now I only have the option of color up to 16 bits though previously I had 32 . Would just a better graphics driver help or maybe a BIOS flash I don’t know. How do I make my color at least 32 bit again?

1.Can I completely restore Windows 7 from a PC backup or System Recovery Disc after a virus attack?

2.Is it possible to restore windows 7 after reformatting then using the recovery disc? because I have no OS installation CD.

My windows 7 backup is way to big so I will just do a manual backup of files like what was suggested to me. How do I stop windows 7 from backing up my entire OS automatically with images?

I have a new Toshiba laptop with vista and I want to transfer my music, videos, and pictures from my old laptop which is running XP. I tried to connect my crossover cable to the laptops and it says that the connection has limited to no connectivity. I tried to do windows easy transfer but I waited about 5 hours and the progress went no where. So I need to do it via the cable. But I can’t get the cable to work. Can you guys help me out?

The other day I installed Windows 7 on my computer. I followed the instructions and used the CD provided. I have noticed that I now have two operating systems on my computer now. Windows Vista never uninstalled. This is a problem as my recovery bar is “red” stating I need to take action. This bar is also full. I have no idea how to remove Windows Vista or why it is still on my computer now that I have window 7. Any ideas?

I bought an alienware laptop about 2 months ago and it came with windows 7 free upgrade according to the bestbuy website. How do I get the free upgrade for alienware? i know its dell but it is not listed in the windows 7 upgrade website, and there is no alienware option. Should i call alienware or bestbuy?

I locked myself out of my main account, and the restricted account is for my younger brother, basically preventing him from getting onto myspace, violent games, ect, but the guest account has no such restrictions, and I don’t want to go through the touble of reformatting the drive with the Vista disk.

My desktop has blue screened and i was trying to reinstall Windows XP on it. I have the original disk. What are the steps to boot the computer from the cd drive if possible? Thanks.

I bought a compaq and it came with windows vista. A lot of software is not up to the task. Most still operate with xp or xp professional.
