NOT THE BETA. I am getting a new computer for graduation in june. Will windows 7 be out by then?

I heard that a lot of people are having problems with the new Vista platform, so people are still sticking to XP for the moment. What I want to know is this: How long is XP going to last from now? I am planning to buy my own laptop and I would be truly grateful if they have the XP platform in it.

I have a laptop using WIndows 7, and I am currently using it to display something for a booth I am working. Unfortunately, within 20 minutes the computer goes into standby mode, and I can’t seem to do anything about this. I can disable the screen saver, but nowhere can I find an option for standby mode. Could anybody help me out with this?
