I have currently got Vista Home Premium installed on my computer and am running linux through a virtual pc. My computer is contently freezing having to run both operating systems. Is there a way I can have to separate operating computers on the same machine.

I have downloaded Windows 7 on to the Acer, but I cannot complete installation as I cannot open the downloads. Can anyone assist this very IT illiterate person? Thanks!
The Windows 7 was downloaded via the internet on to the Acer. Do I have to extract this on to a USB stick and then se it to boot the Acer. Sorry – getting a bit confused here.

Is Windows 7 even in a public beta stage yet? I’m pretty sure it isn’t.

If you’re looking for a computer operating system, try Ubuntu Linux. It’s free and “gives” you the internet, word processors, video players, etc.

I just got a computer from a friend that had a corrupted version of windows xp. I tried uninstalling it through the command prompts but it says it wont work. I tried installing linux but after the boot screen it comes up with all these error messages. Im not planning on partitioning my hard drives. Does anyone know if you have to uninstall windows to make linux work right?
