My computer is contently freezing having to run both operating systems. Is there a way I can have to separate operating computers on the same machine.

I am making a backup at the moment on an external drive but am not sure how to put Vista back on the new drive. Can I make a copy of it from the old drive? If so how do I do that? I still have the license number as proof that it came with the machine but the laptop came with vista pre-installed.

One reason is that I want to play a game that needs hardware better than mine. The trouble is that the game in question doesn’t have a Vista version yet.

Is it possible to have both OS’s on the same machine and choose between them at start-up? And how difficult is it, if it is?

The existing hard drive has failed. The machine came with Vista preloaded and no OS discs. No recovery disc is available at the moment either.
