When i start up windows it comes up with two choices: earlier version of windows and windows vista. I want to remove windows vista. Please help me, i have tried formatting the d drive and it dont work, please help as my computer came wiht xp and i perfere that.

I am trying to use my all in one Lexmark P6250 to scan some documents to my system. I have Vista as an operating system. I have tried downloading the driver software from both the disk supplied and the Lexmark website but neither give me the abbility to scan documents. The Lexmark website suggests using Windows Scanner but I can’t find this in my programmes. Any help would be appreciated.

I just bought a new laptop with Vista as the operating system instead of XP. But everytime I try to install or access anything I get prompted with an annoying confirmation tab. Can anyone please tell me where I can turn this off?

I have formatted the partition containing Vista, but the bootloader with the 2 choices still comes up on start up. I have tried booting from the XP CD, and using recovery console, and the “fixmbr” command. That has re-written the boot record, but the bootloader still remains! Help!
PS, I dont want to have to format & reinstall Windows XP!
