Well, Ive been trying to install windows xp on my laptop, but once its almost finished formatting the HDD I keep getting this message “Windows could not format hardrive plase push enter to continue” the laptop was built for windows, and has 1gb of RAM and the processor is an AMD Turion x2. Is my computer done, or is there anything else I can do to save it?

I tried to use my xp cd and choose thr repair option but it didn’t work and I don’t want to format because I have programs installed wich I loose the installer cd.

I have a dcr-hc30 and I want to get my videos on my vista laptop, but everyone is saying that I should install a pci card for firewire. Is there any alternative without installing a pci card?
