What is the difference between(window xp home edition recory disk) and a (window xp installation program disk)? I am trying to fixe my computer and put it to the original format from the first day I bought it. But I keep getting advice from people and told me two different things to use. Which of those 2 things that I should use?

The recovery disk will return your computer to the way it was when you bought it. It will reinstall the drivers and any software that came with your machine.
A Windows installation disk will just install the operating system. No other software and not any drivers that are specific to your machine.
Depending on the manufacturer, recovery may leave all your files intact. (Not your program installations – the registry is replaced – but all your files [including the program files] will still be there.)
